Cream or Lotion?
When to Use What
Different textures for different needs.
Choosing between a cream and a lotion isn’t just a matter of personal preference—it’s also about what your skin truly needs.
Lotions are lighter, water-based, and absorb quickly: perfect for warm climates, combination skin, or as a first step in your hydration routine.
Creams, on the other hand, have a richer consistency due to a higher content of oils and butters: ideal for dry, sensitive skin or during winter, when the skin needs extra protection.
The ideal approach? Listen to your skin and adapt your skincare texture according to the season, age, skin condition, and environment.
Skin Barrier:
Your Invisible Shield
It protects the skin from irritation, dehydration, and external aggressors.
The skin barrier is a vital structure: it’s the “protective wall” made of cells and lipids that prevents water loss and shields the skin from bacteria, pollution, and irritants.
When intact, the skin looks elastic, firm, and less reactive. But harsh cleansers, overly intense routines, or environmental factors can weaken it.
The result? Dryness, redness, sensitivity.
To strengthen it, it’s best to choose gentle, hydrating products rich in ceramides, fatty acids, and soothing ingredients.
Taking care of the skin barrier means preventing many skin imbalances and ensuring healthier, more resilient skin.

Key Ingredient:
Hyaluronic Acid, Smart Hydration
A molecule that holds water where it’s needed most.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural hydrator already found in our skin, but its levels decrease with age.
In cosmetics, it’s used in different molecular forms to reach various skin layers: low molecular weight penetrates deeply, while high molecular weight locks in moisture on the surface.
The result? Plumper, softer, and more elastic skin.
It’s ideal in every season and pairs well with other active ingredients.
Important: To prevent evaporation, always apply it to damp skin and follow with a cream to seal in the hydration.
Key Ingredient:
Urea, More Than an Exfoliant
Hydrates, smooths, and strengthens dry skin.
Urea is a multifunctional ingredient that’s often underestimated.
It has powerful moisturizing properties, as it retains water in the stratum corneum, and also offers gentle exfoliating action by helping to remove dead skin cells and smooth the skin’s surface.
It’s especially effective on rough areas like heels, elbows, or very dry legs. At low concentrations (up to 10%), it acts as a hydrator; at higher concentrations (over 20%), it becomes keratolytic. Ideal for treating very dry, atopic, or thickened skin. An effective and well-tolerated active ingredient.

Key Ingredient:
Discovering Niacinamide
The multitasking ally for every skin type.
Niacinamide, also known as Vitamin B3, is one of the most versatile ingredients in dermocosmetics.
It helps strengthen the skin barrier, regulates sebum production, reduces redness, and evens out the complexion. It’s well tolerated even by sensitive or blemish-prone skin.
When used consistently, it visibly improves skin texture, giving a more radiant and even appearance. It can be applied morning and evening, on its own or combined with other active ingredients like hyaluronic acid or retinoids. A smart choice for any skincare routine.
How Dry Skin Changes with the Seasons
The environment affects our skin’s balance.
Dry skin is particularly sensitive to climate changes.
In winter, cold winds and low temperatures reduce sebum production, while indoor heating increases dehydration—leaving the skin tight, fragile, and chapped. In summer, heat and sun exposure can lead to deep dehydration, redness, or flaking.
Sweating also impacts the skin by altering its pH balance.
It’s essential to adjust your skincare routine: use richer textures during the colder months, and opt for lightweight, hydrating formulas in warmer weather—always remembering to apply sun protection.
